Fire blankets and battery bags
Fire blankets for kitchen oil fires and lithium-ion batteries, from 150x150 cm to 600x800 cm, as well as fire-resistant bags for battery storage and charging. The blanket requires no maintenance and can be used without prior practice.

How to use the blanket?
- Turn off the heat source, if you can safely reach it (stove, charger).
- Protect your hands: fold the edges of the blanket toward yourself so the flames don't reach your arms.
- Don't throw it on, lay it down. If thrown, the air lifts it and it won't cover everything.
- Leave it in place. The fire goes out when the air supply is cut off, but the heated oil may reignite after the blanket is removed. Wait until it has completely cooled down.
- For large-size blankets, two people are needed; lay it in front of the vehicle and pull it over, working along the edges. This should be practiced, as there's no time to figure it out in a real emergency.
Single-use or reusable?
Kitchen blankets are typically single-use: they must be replaced after a fire because their material gets damaged. Some large industrial blankets designed for battery fires can be reused multiple times according to the manufacturer's instructions, if undamaged. Always check the instructions after use, and never put a damaged blanket back in place.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a fire blanket in the kitchen if I have a fire extinguisher?
The two serve different purposes. The blanket is an immediate, damage-free solution for a pan of burning oil. A fire extinguisher can handle larger fires, but in the kitchen only a Class F foam extinguisher is suitable for oil. It's best to have both.
Will the blanket extinguish an e-bike battery fire?
It doesn't extinguish it, but smothers it and prevents the fire from spreading. Thermal runaway still takes place under the blanket. However, this is exactly what's needed: it prevents the home, garage, or a neighboring vehicle from catching fire.
What size blanket is needed for a car?
For full coverage, the 600x800 cm size is suitable. The smaller 300x400 cm blanket is suitable for partial coverage or smaller vehicles. Handling large blankets requires two people and practice.
Does a fire blanket expire?
It contains no extinguishing agent that could be used up, but its material can deteriorate over time and due to environmental effects. Check it annually: if it is torn, moldy, discolored, or damp, replace it. You will find the manufacturer's recommended replacement period on the packaging. For battery blankets, the manufacturer's recommendation is a minimum of 10 years, with proper storage.
Can the blanket be washed after use?
No. Once it has come into contact with fire, replace it, unless the manufacturer explicitly permits reuse.
